In comparison to the age of the planet we live in, our lives happen like a flash of light. There are things we would rather not do or obsess ourselves with. Therefore, in no particular order, these were the top ten things that came to mind. I hope you enjoy the post.
Life is too short to regret… stop crying over spilt milk, it probably was never meant to be. It is also a waste of time since you cannot undo the past. So pull yourself up and push yourself forward, nobody else will do it for you. Look forward, into the light where you have the opportunity to make things right.
Life is too short to worry when you could be dancing your problems away (or singing or cooking or whatever it is you like to do). A huge chunk of our worries never come true. But think of all the time we spend worrying when we could have focused that same energy on productive things. So take a deep breath and instead counting your dollars or thinking about that cheating boyfriend, spend your time teaching yourself to do something that could get you that extra bit of dough or if the boyfriend is that much of a problem walk the other direction.
3) Hold a Grudge
Life is too short to hold grudges; it is slow suicide, you can feel your heart giving up on you. It is like you let this feeling grow bigger and bigger and bigger by the day until it finally explodes in your face and you become ‘that-cribbity-old-fart’. LET IT GO!!! You are better than that.
4) Follow a Routine
Life is short but when you follow a routine every single day of your life you will realize everything is a circle. There is no beginning and no end; the days all merge into one. Some of you prefer such a life but how would you know the beauty of doing something you never tried. If you have never had dessert before dinner, try it! Life is short. Eat your dessert first! 😉
5) Ignore the Important Stuff
Life is too short to focus on the things that don’t matter in the long run. Who cares how clean your house is when you have a toddler and a big shaggy dog. People will talk and bitch anyway. On the other hand your family wants you and that is special (don’t you care about the attention you are getting? People kill to be the centre of attention and here it is being laid to you on a silver platter; grab it!). Go do that before you find yourself living with regret. We just read that life is too short for regret.
6) Live in Fear
Life is too short to live in fear.We all know we are going to die someday and we all know that there is no such thing as human perfection (I bet you a million bucks!). What then do you fear? ‘The only thing we must fear is fear itself’. Don’t underestimate the value and significance of this quote.
7) Not Be Yourself
Life is too short to be somebody else; it is a waste of the person you are. And why would you ever want to be somebody else or look like someone else. The joke’s on you if you think that being someone else is cooler. When you reach a certain age it is all going to hit you like a ton of bricks and I assure you that you will feel like a pathetic loser.
Life is too short to harbor such emotions and hate is something that is inherently evil. If you cannot see the good in a person try to see the neutral and if you cannot see that as well, stop there! I mean it!
9) Put a Hold on your Dreams
Life is way too short to put off the big stuff for later. ‘It is better to fail doing what you love than to succeed at doing what you hate.’ Another brilliant quote that simply shows that you are wasting your time doing things that you do not like. Take a (calculated) risk!
10) Not Laugh
Life is too short to…..
You could not have NOT laughed seeing this clown. If you didn’t, I recommend you to take a long hard look at yourself and figure out what happened to your sense of appreciating stupidity. Its frowned upon most of the time but if you ever want to be happy you need it in little doses. Take a moment to laugh everyday and when I say laugh, I mean like a big hearty laugh which involves distorted vision (maybe some tears rolling down), the sides of your mouth aching and your not so beautiful set of teeth showing.
